Welcome to Counselling with Alice
Reaching out for support can feel daunting, especially when you’re not sure where to start.
If you’re looking for counselling near Cirencester or online, you’re in the right place.
Whether you’re facing anxiety, stress, low mood, relationship difficulties, loss, feeling stuck or overwhelmed…
I offer a warm, real, judgement-free space where you can show up exactly as you are, talk things through at your own pace and feel genuinely heard and accepted.
About me
I’m Alice, a qualified counsellor offering online and face-to-face counselling in the Cotswolds.
I’m passionate about supporting people through the messy, hard and uncertain parts of life, helping them to feel empowered as they move forward.
I feel incredibly privileged to work with people from all walks of life and to be alongside them on their journey to build meaningful, lasting change.
My approach
My way of working is grounded in a person-centred approach. I provide a safe and supportive space where you can slow down, reflect and make sense of your thoughts and feelings. Here, you will be met with empathy, acceptance and without judgement.
Together, we will focus on what feels most important for you, at a pace that feels comfortable.
I also draw on psychodynamic theory, which can help us explore how past experiences may still be shaping the way you relate to yourself and others today.
At the heart of my work is the therapeutic relationship we build together.
Over time, therapy can help you to:
feel more resilient in the face of life's challenges
heal from past experiences
navigate life changes
nurture a kinder relationship with yourself
gain a deeper of understanding of who you are
feel more confident and empowered in navigating your life going forward
Testimonials
"Over the last year Alice has provided me with the space and support to grow and trust in my own voice and feelings.
I connected with Alice really quickly and was able to trust her with issues that I have been struggling with for a long time.
Throughout my sessions with Alice, I have always felt that she has really cared and felt thoroughly held and supported with everything I was going through.
I have gained so much from our time together, feel so much more confident, and have learned valuable tools to help me go through difficult feelings or moments.
I am really grateful to have had Alice with me through some really challenging times and have taken so much from our sessions; I would definitely recommend her services."

Frequently Asked Questions
-
Counselling offers a safe, confidential space where you can talk about what’s happening in your life. It is a place to be heard, without judgement and to explore whatever is on your mind.
Sessions last 50 minutes and we’ll meet weekly, normally at the same time each week.
-
My role is not to tell you what to do or give advice. Instead, I’ll be there alongside you as we work through what’s going on for you together.
I may not have all the answers, but you won’t have to figure things out on your own.
-
I hold a Foundation Degree in Therapeutic Counselling, awarded with Distinction. I’m also a registered member of the BACP (British Assocation for Counselling and Psychotherapy) and adhere to their Ethical Framework.
I have experience working with clients with a range of issues including anxiety, depression, low self-esteem and relationship difficulties.

There is no set number of sessions. I offer open-ended counselling, which means we can work together for as long as it feels helpful and beneficial for you. Some people come for a few sessions to focus on a specific issue, while others choose longer-term counselling to explore things in more depth. We will regularly review how the work is feeling and decide together what is right for you.
-
If meeting online sounds like a better fit for you, online counselling follows the same approach as face to face counselling, with 50 minute sessions held via Google Meet.
All you need is a private space, a stable internet connection and a device with a camera and microphone.

The first session is an opportunity for us to meet and begin exploring what has brought you to counselling. You might have a clear idea of what you'd like to focus on, or you may simply know that something doesn't feel quite right. Wherever you're starting from, we'll spend some time talking about what's going on for you and what you're hoping counselling might offer.
We'll also go through the counselling agreement together. This is our working contract and explains things such as confidentiality, how sessions are arranged and what you can expect from our work together. It's important that you feel comfortable with these arrangements and there will be space to talk through any questions you may have.
